FreeByrd the mustang

Such a serious/curious look.
FreeByrd is a hoot to own, and as a mustang, she is never going to be anything but a feral horse. She questions everything we ask of her, but if it is accompanied by sweet feed, she'll comply.
This is a -great- photo. :D
She's a mustang pony, and everything is a negotiation. DH keeps telling people we are rehabilitating her, and I keep correcting him - since she was born very wild, we are attempting to habilitate her.
I don't think he's caught on yet.
that was taken four years ago, after we had her about a year and a half, and she is no more tame now than then.
Wow, you can really see it!
"I don't know what you want, but the guy with the feed bucket is behind me, so you are probably not going to get any cooperation from me."

For the record, FreeByrd is a mustang pony mare (between 13 and 14 hands - she just looks huge beside the minis), about 5 in this picture.
We haven't "broken her" but I do tell people she's a little bent.
She halters, ties, leads, trailers and stands still for shots, hoof-trimming and deworming. She is also our primary guard animal.
