food for thought

Yesterday we went to Pinnacle Mountain for a workshop on dutch oven cooking. It was 60 degrees & sunny. Quite a contrast with the ice storms the first of the week.
I am playing with making a spice mix today. We found a carribean curry mix a while back, which has been used up, but it does list the spices contained. We stopped by Whole Foods yesterday and I played in the bulk bins.
For this mix I'm trying anise seed, red pepper flakes, brown mustard, fennel, coriander, cumin, cardamon, fenugreek & tumeric. Will report later about results.
Also bought a number of grains for future breadmaking projects.
DH is working on the trim in the sunroom, while I am playing with taxes & laundry.
